Promotion hopes still alive At Dunnikier Park Saturday 4th August East League Division 3 Dunnikier kept their promotion hopes alive by completing a league double over near neighbours Townhill at Dunnikier Park on Saturday. The relegation-doomed visitors suffered another heavy defeat as some tight bowling and sober batting, from Brian Cutter (63*) and Greg Skene (28*), saw Dunnikier home by 7 wickets. Captain Drysdale was forced to make 4 changes from the previous week but after winning the toss and inserting the visitors, stand-in opening bowler Bilal Mahmood stepped up to the plate to bowl 10 overs straight through, only conceding 8 runs; and with Drysdale as meagre as ever at the other end, both batsmen didn’t know where the next runs were coming from. |

Demolition job sees visitors humiliated At Dunnikier Park Saturday 28th July East League Division 3 As cricket matches go, this game came very high on the list of many of Dunnikier's longest serving members as the shortest game they had ever participated in. At 1:10pm SMRH opener Coltherd took guard after home skipper Drysdale invited the visitors to bat on a soft but drying wicket, less than 2 hours later at 3:02pm, Dunnikiers opening batsmen Braid and Cutter had won the game, a ten-wicket victory, with much bemusement amongst the players. |

Dunnikier travelled west on Saturday to play only their sixth game of the season, conditions were dark and cold with some rain in the air and only a few points separated the teams in a tight league. With Dunnikier winning the toss they invited the hosts to bat first on a very green wicket, and it took Sorrell only 3 balls to hit the timbers and send Cotterell back for a duck - 10 balls later he produced a late in-swinging yorker to dismiss Duncan and leave Stenny at 8-2.

Clinical bowling display reaps rewards At Townhill Park Saturday 2nd June East League Division 3 For the second season running Dunnikier inflicted a 10-wicket victory over their rivals from the west of Fife. The manner of defeat for Townhill was somewhat humiliating as they could only muster a paltry 34 all out in 27.3 overs. The day began with Dunnikier skipper Drysdale winning the toss and inserting the hosts on a truly awful wicket and it only took Sorrell 4 balls to claim the first of his 3 wickets by bowling B. Pringle for no-score. |
